Christine Shigaki started in dentistry in 1989 as a dental assistant/front office person, while completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Washington. In 1994, she graduated with honors from The University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, San Francisco, CA. Dr. Shigaki, a native of Seattle, started building her practice from scratch in 1995 and opened Belltown Dental in 2003.
As a life-long student of dentistry, she strives to provide relationship-based, comprehensive care, that is appropriate and optimal for every client. A lifelong learner, she is involved with several dental study clubs and continues coursework of various continuing education, including classes at the distinguished Pankey Institute, where she started her coursework in 1999 and is currently an advisor and faculty member. She is also a member of the distinguished Pierre Fauchard Academy, The Academy of General Dentistry, along with local (SKCDS), state (WSDA) and nation wide (ADA) dental organizations.
She has served as a delegate to the state association from 2012-2019 and continues to serve in several committees at her local, Seattle King County Dental Society. Christine also facilitates teams and mentors dentists, as one of her passions is helping teams build healthy, resilient, and relevant organizations that are built on diversity, inclusion and collaboration. She enjoys the work/life balance that dentistry allows her and hopes that others can find their joy in dentistry.
When not at the office or teaching/studying dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and extensive extended family. She enjoys community service, being involved in her children’s activities, yoga, reading, various outdoor activities and cooking.
