KEY BISCAYNE – The L.D. Pankey Dental Foundation is proud to announce the winners of its fifth annual Dr. Donald C. “Ozzie” Asbjornson Scholarship competition for current dental students and residents!
The 2017 scholarship winners are: Giancarlo Cecchini, Midwestern University’s College of Dental Medicine-Illinois; Ryan Keener, University of Michigan School of Dentistry; and Danielle P. Taylor, Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine.
Beloved teacher, mentor, and friend – Dr. Donald “Ozzie” Asbjornson made an indelible impact on the lives of many Pankey participants. This scholarship opportunity pays tribute to his legacy, and it will also be providing our scholarship recipients with a transformative experience. The award includes the following:
- Full tuition $1550 to attend our 2017 Annual Meeting, which also includes access to all social events
- A $300 stipend for incidentals
- Pairing with a Pankey mentor in their region
This year’s Donald “Ozzie” Scholarship Committee Chair, Dr. Matthew Steinberg, remarked that there just aren’t any other continuing education institutions in dentistry offering this type of opportunity to the next generation. Pankey is proud to be the ONE place that does!
We received a high number of applications this year, and Giancarlo’s, Ryan’s and Danielle’s submissions stood out from the rest. They are not only a credit to the mission and core values of their respective schools, but they represent the future of Pankey and dentistry. Therefore, we could not be happier to welcome them into our family at this year’s Annual Meeting, aptly themed “We Are Family”!
