CADRE EVENT

A few weeks ago, members of the Cadre and their guests gathered for an intimate reunion in Key Biscayne. The event included a tour of our updated home at One Crandon Boulevard and a heartfelt dinner filled with shared stories and memories. The evening was marked by “tears of gratitude” as attendees reflected on the personal and professional impact of L.D. and the early leaders.

 

Dr. David Swan, our current Board Chair, kicked off the festivities in Masters Hall (via video), welcoming everyone home with stories of his journey through the Institute. Dr. Richard Hunt, Board Chair from 2019-2023, highlighted the Institute’s significant growth over the past seven years. Dr. Lee Ann Brady, our Executive Director and Director of Education, reviewed our current curriculum and reaffirmed our commitment to creating Masters in Dentistry.

 

Dr. Michael Crete, Board Chair from 2020-2024, updated attendees on the L.D. Pankey Dental Foundation’s financial strength and the Board’s plans for endowment growth and leadership succession. He also announced the newly formed Cadre/Former Visiting Faculty Fund, established to honor past and future contributors to the Institute’s mission.

 

Several members of the current Visiting Faculty were also in Key Biscayne for a Faculty Enhancement Workshop and enjoyed mingling with the Cadre and former Faculty members during a cocktail reception. Overall, it was a wonderful time to reconnect, share memories, and reminisce about a place that holds a special meaning for all of us.

TRIPLE PLUS SOCIETY The Pankey Institute’s Triple Plus Society recognizes the exceptional generosity of donors who have pledged or contributed a lifetime amount of $10,000. As part of our prestigious Quid Pro Quo Society, members of this giving level receive well-deserved acknowledgment on the recognition wall at the entrance of our main lobby at 1 Crandon Blvd. We are proud to welcome the following new members to the Triple Plus Society this quarter: Dr. Monica Patel Dr. Norman R. Chu Dr. Jarod Gearhart Dr. Langley Bowers Additionally, we celebrate Dr. Sean Bannan, who has completed his pledge and was formally pinned this quarter. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support and commitment of our donors, whose contributions help us continue our mission of excellence in dental education. Dr. Bannan’s contributions extend beyond his generous donations. He was recently recognized as a Pankey Hero for his courageous actions in saving a man from choking. While dining in Port Orange, Dr. Bannan noticed a fellow diner in distress and promptly performed the Heimlich maneuver, successfully dislodging the food and allowing the man to breathe again.
